You will be able to play 10 different single player missions through the Situations mode, that also serves as the introduction to the gameplay mechanics in Rainbow Six Siege. Competitive multiplayer modes are Hostage, Bomb, Terrorist Hunt and Secure Area. In each of those modes, your team will have to achieve certain objectives, and the opposing team will usually have to stop you doing so in order to win the match. The matches can be played in several PVE and PVP modes through 18 different maps.
